My Greatest Mom
My mom only had
one eye.. I hated her... She was such an embarrassment. . She cooked for
students & teachers to support the family. There was this one day during
elementary school where my mom came to Say hello to me. I was so embarrassed.
How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran
out. The next day at school one of my classmates said, 'EEEE, your mom only Has
one eye!' I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear.. I
confronted her that day and said, ' If you're only gonna make me a Laughing
stock, why don't you just die?' My mom did not respond.... I didn't even stop
to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger. I was
oblivious to her feelings. I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do
with her. So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study. Then, I
got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own. I was happy with
my life, my kids and the comforts, Then one day, my Mother came to visit me.
She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her Grandchildren. When
she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at Her for
coming over uninvited. I screamed at her, 'How dare you come to my house and
scare my Children!' GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!' And to this, my mother quietly answered,
'Oh, I'm so sorry. I may have Gotten the wrong address,' And she disappeared
out of sight. One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. So
I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I
went to the old shack just out of curiosity. My neighbors said that she died. I
did not shed a single tear. They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to
have. 'My dearest son, I think of you all the time. I'm sorry that I came to
your house and Scared your children. I was so glad when I heard you were coming
for the reunion. But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you. I'm
sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were Growing up. You
see..........when you were very little, you got into an accident, and Lost your
eye. As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you Having to grow up with one eye.
So I gave you mine. I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world
for me, in my Place, with that eye. With all my love to you, Your mother.

Moral Story :Helping Hand
A mother, wishing to encourage her son's progress at the
piano, bought tickets to a performance by the great Polish pianist Ignace
Paderewski. When the evening arrived, they found their seats near the front of
the concert hall and eyed the majestic Steinway waiting on the stage. Soon the
mother found a friend to talk to, and the boy slipped away. At eight o'clock,
the lights in the auditorium began to dim, the spotlights came on, and only
then did they notice the boy - up on the piano bench, innocently picking out
"Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." His mother gasped in shock and
embarrassment but, before she could retrieve her son, the master himself
appeared on the stage and quickly moved to the keyboard. He whispered gently to
the boy, "Don't quit. Keep playing." Leaning over, Paderewski reached
down with his left hand and began filling in the bass part. Soon his right arm
reached around the other side and improvised a delightful melody. Together, the
old master and the young novice held the crowd mesmerized with their blended
and beautiful music.
Moral: In all our lives, we receive helping hands - some we
notice, some we don't. Equally we ourselves have countless opportunities to
provide helping hands - sometimes we would like our assistance to be noticed,
sometimes we don't. Little of what we all achieve is without learning from
others and without support from others and what we receive we should hand out.

Why i hate 'Apple' in Hyderabad
I bought Apple Ipad recently at Reliance store in Kukatpally.
After six months we observed that ipad is having multiple problems like home
button doesn’t work sometimes, touch doesn’t work sometimes and battery has bulged.
As Reliance has closed its app stores so I went to nearest
apple store ‘Aptronix’ Banjara hills.
Aptronix is a wonderful store located in Banjara Hills with
the worst staff from across the world. I may be harsh but you will agree with
me once you visit the store.
·
Aptronix timings really worst they start from
10:00 AM to 6:00 PM with lunch from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM (and they don’t work
whenever there is no power).
·
When I showed to Apple executive , he said I have
to take backup, I asked him who to do it in Cloud he showed the way and in the
process he didn’t upload pictures for around 3 GB and I lost all my newly born kid
photos .(Apple executive has to at least guide us properly how to use cloud and
take backup)
·
In middle of the work they leave saying its
Lunch hour and asks us to wait (note: we will be waiting expecting they will
come back).
·
When I show the device to another executive
gives no answer or gives exactly opposite answer.
·
Finally they took back the ipad and returned a
new piece after 4 working days.
·
When I got the new device they started setting
up the device, they set a new password and they didn’t inform me. I am still
waiting to get my password I have either call them or personally visit them.
·
When I inquired about IPhone 5S , executive
responds I am begging for his help.
I am sure this is not How Apple wants his customers to be
treated. So please avoid buying Apple products in Hyderabad or Ask Apple to
change its ‘Aptronix’ vendor.

Shridi Sai Temple in Nizampet
I visited Shirdi Sai temple in Nizampet today and observed
that it developed very well to the time when I visited last time.
This blog will help you to find details about the temple
·
Shiridi Sai Temple is located around 2.5 Km from
Nizampet main road . It is near to the water tank located in Nizampet village.
·
Here we can see that Sai baba statue is made of
black stone and by seeing it we will have peace in the mind.
·
Pujas are regularly conducted as it happens in
Shiridi.
·
Every Thursday they have started annadanam in
the afternoon and now they are even raising funds for construction of permanent
place for it.
·
It is maintained by Shiridi Sai Baba Trust
headed by P.Chittibabu (cine actor).
- You can also follow the Sai Baba temple updates in Face book by searching 'Shiridi sai baba temple nizampet'.

Termination of Hypothecation for My car
I bought my car with help of SBI (State bank Of India) and recently cleared my loan. I went to RTA office medchal. Below are some of the tips to avoid multiple visits to RTA office.
• Please take following documents with you to RTA office
Form 35 – 3 copies (2 copies minimum)
Xerox copy of PUC (Pollution check certificate)
Xerox copy of insurance certificate
Xerox copy of your Date of Birth ( it is written on the mandatory documents board , but RTA officer didn’t ask for it)
A letter from Bank saying that Loan is cleared (loan closure certificate/letter).
Original RC (Registration Copy)
• Upon taking all the documents , please go to ‘May I help you ‘ counter, who verifies all the documents and sends you over to a Counter
• In the counter , employee takes around Rs 535 and gives a receipt and guides you to a counter where you have to do digital signature.
• Please remember to take a small plastic pouch to keep your Original RC.
• Rs 535 is distributed as application fees (Rs 100) + Service charge (Rs 200) + Smart card fees (Rs 200)+ postal charge (Rs 35).
• It would take minimum of 1 week to get your new RC without Hypothecation.
• Ideal time to visit RTA office is before 11 AM and if it is after 1:00 PM please go some other day.

The cockroach theory for self development
At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on
a lady. She started screaming out of fear. With a panic stricken
face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both her hands
desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach.
Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got
panicky.
The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but ...it landed
on another lady in the group.
Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the
drama.
The waiter rushed forward to their rescue.
In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter.
The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behavior of
the cockroach on his shirt.
When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and
threw it out of the restaurant.
Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement, the antenna of my mind
picked up a few thoughts and started wondering, was the cockroach
responsible for their histrionic behavior?
If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed?
He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos.
It is not the cockroach, but the inability of the ladies to handle
the disturbance caused by the cockroach that disturbed the ladies.
I realized that, it is not the shouting of my father or my boss or
my wife that disturbs me, but it's my inability to handle the
disturbances caused by their shouting that disturbs me.
It's not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my
inability to handle the disturbance caused by the traffic jam that
disturbs me.
More than the problem, it's my reaction to the problem that creates
chaos in my life.
Lessons learnt from the story:
I understood, I should not react in life.
I should always respond.
The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded.
Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always well
thought of, just and right to save a situation from going out of
hands, to avoid cracks in relationship, to avoid taking decisions in
anger, anxiety, stress or hurry. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Initiative .. Managment lesson
Employee "A" in a company walked up to his manager and asked what my job is for the day? The manager took "A" to the bank of a river and asked him to cross the river and reach the other side of the bank. "A" completed this task successfully and reported back to the manager about the completion of the task assigned. The manager smiled and said "GOOD JOB"
Next day Employee "B" reported to the same manager and asked him the job for the day. The manager assigned the same task as above to this person also. The Employee "B' before starting the task saw Employee "C" struggling in the river to reach the other side of the bank. He realized "C" has the same task. Now "B" not only crossed the river but also helped "C" to cross the river. "B" reported back to the manager and the manager smiled and said "VERY GOOD JOB"
The following day Employee "Q" reported to the same manager and asked him the job for the day. The manager assigned the same task again. Employee "Q" before starting the work did some home work and realized "A", "B" & "C" all has done this task before. He met them and understood how they performed. He realized that there is a need for a guide and training for doing this task. He sat first and wrote down the procedure for crossing the river, he documented the common mistakes people made, and tricks to do the task efficiently and effortlessly. Using the methodology he had written down he crossed the river and reported back to the manager along with documented procedure and training material. The manger said "Q" you have done an "EXCELLENT JOB".
The following day Employee "O' reported to the manager and asked him the job for the day. The manager assigned the same task again. "O" studied the procedure written down by "Q" and sat and thought about the whole task. He realized company is spending lot of money in getting this task completed. He decided not to cross the river, but sat and designed and implemented a bridge across the river and went back to his manager and said, "You no longer need to assign this task to any one". The manager smiled and said "Outstanding job 'O'. I am very proud of you."
What is the difference between A, B, Q & O? Many a times in life we get tasks to be done at home, at office, at play.,
Most of us end up doing what is expected out of us. Do we feel happy? Most probably yes. We would be often disappointed when the recognition is not meeting our expectation. Let us compare ourselves with "B". Helping someone else the problem often improves our own skills. There is an old proverb (I do not know the author) "learn to teach and teach to learn". From a company point of view "B" has demonstrated much better skills than "A" since one more task for the company is completed.
"Q" created knowledge base for the team. More often than not, we do the task assigned to us without checking history. Learning from other's mistake is the best way to improve efficiency. This knowledge creation for the team is of immense help. Re-usability reduces cost there by increases productivity of the team. "Q" demonstrated good "team-player" skills,
Now to the outstanding person, "O" made the task irrelevant; he created a Permanent Asset to the team.
If you notice B, Q and O all have demonstrated "team performance" over and above individual performance; they have also demonstrated a very invaluable characteristic known as "INITIATIVE".
Initiative pays of everywhere whether at work or at personal life. If you have initiative you will succeed. Initiative is a continual process and it never ends. This is because this year's achievement is next year's task. You cannot use the same success story every year. The story provides an instance of performance, where as measurement needs to be spread across at least 6-12 months. Consequently performance should be consistent and evenly spread. Out-of-Box thinkers are always premium and that is what everyone constantly looks out for. Initiative, Out-of-Box thinking and commitment are the stepping stone to success.
Initiative should be lifelong. Think of out of the box…..Happy Working

Expert Advices for Safety of Women
1) What should a woman do if she finds herself alone in the company of a strange
male as she prepares to enter a lift in a high-rise apartment late at night?
Experts Say: Enter the lift. If you need to reach the 13th floor, press
all the buttons up to your destination. No one will dare attack you in a lift that stops on every floor.
2) What to do if a stranger tries to attack you when you are alone in your
house, run into the kitchen.
Experts Say: You alone know where the chili powder and turmeric are kept.
And where the knives and plates are. All these can be turned into deadly
weapons. If nothing else, start throwing plates and utensils all over.
Let them break. Scream. Remember that noise is the greatest enemy of a
molester. He does not want to be caught.
3} Taking an Auto or Taxi at Night.
Experts Say: Before getting into an auto at night, note down its registration
number. Then use the mobile to call your family or friend and pass on the
details to them in the language the driver understands .Even if no one
answers your call, pretend you are in a conversation. The driver now knows
someone has his details and he will be in serious trouble if anything goes
wrong. He is now bound to take you home safe and sound. A potential attacker
is now your de facto protector!
4} What if the driver turns into a street he is not supposed to - and you
feel you are entering a danger zone?
Experts Say: Use the handle of your purse or your stole (dupatta) to wrap
around his neck and pull him back. Within seconds, he will feel choked
and helpless. In case you don̢۪t have a purse or stole just pull him back
by his collar. The top button of his shirt would then do the same trick.
5} If you are stalked at night.
Expert Say: enter a shop or a house and explain your predicament.
If it is night and shops are not open, go inside an ATM box. ATM centers
always have security guards. They are also monitored by close circuit television.
Fearing identification, no one will dare attack you.
After all, being mentally alert is the greatest weapon you can ever have ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hate Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance .. Review
I am a middle class salaried employee.I invested in Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance to save tax in 80 CC and to get life coverage.

- Agent told me the plan which i invested is very good and it can give returns more than bank fixed deposit.
- I started investing Rs 4000 every quarter into a Plan called 'Bajaj Allianz New UnitGain Plus' with 'Partial Permanent Disability ' and 'Accidental death benefit' riders and fund is 'Equity Growth Fund'
- Starting from the first month my investment started decreasing , it gave me -ve returns
- Bajaj Allianz has so many conditions for address change etc also.
- I was awaiting for 3 years lock in period to complete so that i can withdraw my money.
- i paid around Rs 64000 and they paid me finally around Rs.49000 which is around 24% loss to my principal.
- Most interesting part is i submitted my Policy surrender document on 31st March 2012 which was on a holiday. They told me that they would consider next working day 2nd April 2012 Nav
- I recieved my ECS payment on 12th April 2012 considering the NAV value of 9th April which got me around Rs 400 loss.
- When i called to the call center they gave a reply saving that as i submitted on 31st march 2012 which was year end and their systems are designed such that will not take next working day automatically because of year end activity.
- I had to do a couple of follow ups to get my Rs 400 back in check.
- I only lost few hundrend rupees but their might be people losing thousands so my advice is be carefull when you surender or never invest with Bajaj Allianz.

Understanding EPS - Employee Pension Scheme
If you have looked at your EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund) details you might have wondered about deduction of Rs. 541 per month from your company’s (employer's) contribution to EPF.
Here is the explanation:
• Every month you need to contribute 12% of your basic salary to your EPF account
• Your employer also needs to contribute 12% of your basic to your EPF account. But this part is split into two -
• EPS (Employee Pension Scheme) – 8.33% of your basic salary goes towards EPS, subject to a maximum of Rs. 541 (i.e. 8.33% of Rs. 6,500)
• The rest of the amount goes into the EPF account.
EPF & EPS Calculation:
Here is an example of how EPF & EPS is calculated:
Suppose your basic salary Rs. 10,000 per month.
• 12% of basic is deducted from salary i.e. 12% of 10,000 = Rs. 1,200
• 12% of basic is contributed by employer i.e. 12% of 10,000 = Rs. 1,200
• Total contribution to EPFO = Rs. 2,400
• Out of total Rs. 2400, Rs. 541 goes towards EPS (Employees’ Pension Scheme) and the rest i.e. (2,400 – 541) = Rs. 1,859 goes towards EPF account.
Since the basic salary is more than Rs. 6,500, only 8.33% of Rs. 6,500 (i.e. 541) is contributed to EPS.
What is EPF & EPS?
First lets talk about the similarity between both – EPF & EPS. Both are Retirement Schemes compulsory for private company employees (employers with more than 50 employees) and are managed by EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation). In case of EPF you get certain percentage interest on your deposits, which are decided by EPFO board every year. Whatever is the amount accumulated in this EPF account by the time you retire, you receive that as a lump sum.
In case of EPS, you get a monthly pension after you retire which is based on a formula. The good thing about this pension is, your spouse/dependents continue to get this monthly pension even after your death subject to certain conditions.
How much Monthly Pension under EPS?
The next logical question is how much pension would you get under EPS scheme? It’s based on a formula:
Monthly Pension = (Pensionable salary X Pensionable service) / 70
• Where Pensionable salary is average of last 12 months basic salary with an upper cap of Rs. 6500 and
• Pensionable service is the tenure of your contribution to EPS.
Calculating Monthly Pension Amount:
For e.g. you join a private sector company at the age of 25 and continue working there till retirement at the age of 60; with your basic salary always exceeding Rs 10,000 per month. Here is what your monthly pension amount would be:
Pensionable salary = Rs. 6,500 [even though your basic salary is Rs. 10,000 but there is an upper limit of Rs. 6,500]
Pensionable service = 60 – 25 = 35 Years
So, Monthly Pension Amount = (6500 x 35) / 70 = Rs. 3,250
You would receive this amount of Rs. 3,250 as your monthly pension for your life time and this would continue even after your death to your dependents.
This brings us to the next question –
Is EPFO justified in paying such a small pension for your contribution of Rs. 541 per month for 35 years?
Let’s do some number crunching and get the answers.
Had your contribution not gone compulsorily into EPS, it would have gone to your EPF (or VPF) account and paid to you in bulk at the time of retirement. Assuming a rate of interest of 8.5% for entire tenure of EPF, the monthly contribution of Rs. 541 for 35 years (or 420 months) would grow to Rs.14,14,147.
You can withdraw this amount and invest in annuity options available with Insurance companies for regular income. Such an investment would give much better returns than this monthly pension of Rs 3250 PM in the given example.

*****An eye opener **********
Ranjan Das, CEO and MD of SAP Indian subcontinent
died after a massive cardiac arrest in Mumbai on Wednesday.
One of the youngest CEOs, he was 42 What killed Ranjan Das and Lessons for Corporate India
A month ago, many of us heard about the sad demise of Ranjan Das from Bandra, Mumbai. He was very active in sports, was a fitness freak and a marathon runner. It was common to see him run on Bandra's Carter Road. Just after Diwali, on 21st Oct, he returned home from his gym after a workout, collapse! d with a massive heart attack and died.
It was certainly a wake-up call for corporate India. However, it was even more disastrous for runners amongst us. Since Ranjan was an avid marathoner ( in Feb 09, he ran Chennai Marathon at the same time some of us were running Pondicherry Marathon 180 km away ), the question came as to why an exceptionally active, athletic person succumb to heart attack at 42 years of age.
Was it the stress?
------------------
A couple of you called me asking about the reasons. While Ranjan had mentioned that he faced a lot of stress, that is a common element in most of our lives. We used to think that by being fit, one can conquer the bad effects of stress. So I doubted if the cause was stress.
The Real Reason
---------------
However, everyone missed out a small line in the reports that Ranjan used to make do with 4-5 hours of sleep. This is an earlier interview of Ranjan on NDTV in the program 'Boss' D! ay Out':
Boss' Day Out:
Ranjan Das of SAP
India .
The Evidence
------------
Last week, I was working with a well-known cardiologist on the subject of ‘Heart Disease caused by Lack of Sleep’. ! While I cannot share the video nor the slides because of confidentiality reasons, I have distilled the key points below in the hope it will
save some of our lives.
Some Excerpts:
-------------
• Short sleep duration ( <5 or 5-6 hours ) increased risk for high BP by 350% to 500% compared to those who slept longer than 6 hours per night. Paper published in 2009. As you know, high BP kills.
• Young people ( 25-49 years of age ) are twice as likely to get high BP if they sleep less. Paper published in 2006.
• Individuals who slept less than 5 hours a night had a 3-fold increased risk of heart attacks. Paper published in 1999.
• Complete and partial lack of sleep increased the blood concentrations of High sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-cRP), the strongest predictor of heart attacks. Even after getting adequate sleep later, the levels stayed high!!
• Just one night of sleep loss increases very toxic substances in body such as Interleukin-6 (IL! -6), Tumour Necrosis Factor-Alpha (TNF-alpha) and C-reactive protein (cRP). They increase risks of many medical conditions, including cancer, arthritis and heart
disease. Paper published in 2004.
• Sleeping for <=5 hours per night leads to 39% increase in heart disease. Sleeping for <=6 hours per night leads to 18% increase in heart disease. Paper published in 2006.
Ideal Sleep
-----------
For lack of space, I cannot explain here the ideal sleep architecture. But in brief, sleep is composed of two stages: REM ( Rapid Eye Movement ) and non-REM. The former helps in mental consolidation while the latter helps in physical repair and rebuilding.
During the night, you alternate between REM and non-REM stages 4-5 times.
The earlier part of sleep is mostly non-REM. During that period, your pituitary gland releases growth hormones that repair your body. The latter part of sleep is more and more REM type.
For you to be mentally alert during the day, ! the latter part of sleep is more important. No wonder when you wake up with an alarm clock after 5-6 hours of sleep, you are mentally irritable throughout the day (lack of REM sleep). And if you have slept for
less than 5 hours, your body is in a complete physical mess ( lack of non-REM sleep ), you are tired throughout the day, moving like a zombie and your immunity is way down ( I’ve been there, done that ).
Finally, as long-distance runners, you need an hour of extra sleep to repair the running related damage.
In conclusion:
--------------
Barring stress control, Ranjan Das did everything right: eating proper food, exercising ( marathoning! ), maintaining proper weight. But he missed getting proper and adequate sleep, minimum 7 hours. In my opinion, that killed him.
If you are not getting enough sleep ( 7 hours ), you are play(!)ing with fire, even if you have low stress. Respect and work through the day hours nature has given us for work. Observe other species and its habits. No day working species do jobs late nights. We are destroying ourselves with our so called intelligence because we don’t know where to draw the line. Respect Nature.
I always took pride in my ability to work 50 hours at a stretch whenever the situation warranted. But I was so spooked after seeing the scientific evidence last week that since Saturday night, I ensure I do not even set the alarm clock under 7 hours. Now, that
is a nice excuse to get some more sleep.
Unfortunately, Ranjan Das is not alone when it comes to missing sleep. Many of us are doing exactly the same, perhaps out of ignorance. Please forward this mail/article to as many of your colleagues/friends as possible, especially those who might be short-changing their sleep
